Greetings. I’m S.G. Wilson, but not the S.G. Wilson you may be aware of. I hail from another Earth. A very advanced alternate Earth positioned within a “parallel universe,” if you will. It’s a concept that may be too difficult for your primitive Earth One brains to fathom. You see, there’s this thing called the “multiverse.”
SG Wilson of Earth 1:
Yeah, they get it. Everybody knows about the multiverse at this point.
Evil SG:
Are you serious?! I had a five-hour lecture planned about how string theory and quantum physics come together to explain the intricate science behind alternate Earths!
SG:
No way am I listening to another of your evil lectures! Listen, you agreed to swing by my Earth and help promote a sci-fi middle grade book giveaway I’ve helped organize. Seven books, seven authors. Great for fans of middle-grade science fiction.
Evil SG:
I don’t know what any of that means! “Science fiction?” “Middle grade books?” We don’t have these things where I come from!
SG:
Really? No books for young people? No stories about space and robots and time travel and stuff?
Evil SG:
We have exactly two kinds of books on my Earth: the kind that tell stories about adults taking a mid-life-crisis vacation to discover themselves and the kind that that take 400 pages to list three or four ways to be better at business.
SG:
Now THAT sounds evil. It’s too bad your Earth doesn’t have science fiction or middle grade books, especially since they go so well together. The ideas that science fiction explores mesh perfectly with stories about kids growing up.
Evil SG:
That sounds preposterous!
SG:
Not at all. It’s like in my book series, ME VS. THE MULTIVERSE. It’s about a kid who goes to a convention for his duplicates from parallel Earths. And by meeting all these doubles, he learns a lot about himself.
Evil SG:
I guess I can see that. I mean, I’ve learned something about myself from meeting you.
SG:
And what would that be?
Evil SG:
That I never want to see you, your stinking Earth or this idiotic book offer ever again!
SG:
